TMC Hosts Education Conference      

South Padre Island, TX – TMC hosted an education conference entitled Early Care and Education: “The Zero to Five Challenge”. The Education Conference took place on October 29, 2009 and ended on Saturday October 31, 2009. The Conference was held at the South Padre Island Convention Center in South Padre Island, Texas.

The Conference provided attendees with the opportunity to enhance their knowledge base and engage in topics of interest such as Early Head Start; Infants and Toddlers; parents as active players in their children’s development; social and emotional development and needs of a young children; supporting early math and science; promoting nutrition and healthy lifestyles and developing quality early childhood education programs and many more.

“We believe this conference aligns perfectly with President Obama’s message of improving the quality of early childhood education by ensuring that all our young children are ready to enter kindergarten. The Conference reflected President Obama’s commitment to provide the support that our youngest children need to achieve academic success”, stated Mary Capello – TMC CEO. Experts on children’s issues and other stakeholders from across the country participated with childcare providers and early childhood educators from Head Start, Pre-Kindergarten, Kindergarten, and other quality early education programs. More than 800 individuals attended the Conference.
