Policy Council Appoints Officers
Laredo, TX –The Policy Council of TMC’s Migrant Seasonal Head Start program held their regular meeting on Friday January 13, 2012 in Laredo, TX.
The TMC Policy Council consists of eighteen members (18) from the eight states where TMC has centers, one board liaison, plus five community representatives representing the Wintergarden region, the Valley region, the Indiana region, the Western region, the Ohio region and UMOS Wisconsin Delegate agency.
The Policy Council elected a new slate of officers for 2012. Elected to the leadership of the Council is Melissa Carrizalez - President from the Western Seasonal; Nancy Lopez - Vice-President from the Western Migrant; Yvonne Charles - Secretary from the Wintergarden Migrant; Juan Arevalo - Sergeant at Arms RGV Community Representative of the Rio Grande Valley Region and Trinedad Artiaga -Treasurer from the Wintergarden Migrant.
Also, the Policy Council welcomed new members Jesus Ramirez representing the Wintergarden Region migrant parents; Rosa Olivarez representing the Wintergarden Region migrant parents; Rosa Ibarra representing the Wintergarden migrant parents; Yvonne Torres representing the Wintergarden Region seasonal parents; Crystal Alvarez representing the Rio Grande Valley Region migrant parents; Yolanda Tapia representing the Rio Grande Valley Region migrant parents; Amanda Lynn Ordaz representing the Rio Grande Valley Region migrant parents; Adriana Vasquez representing the representing the Rio Grande Valley Region migrant parents; Deisi Sanchez representing the Rio Grande Valley migrant parents; Maria Tovar representing the Rio Grande Valley seasonal parents; Blanca Ramirez representing the Indiana Region migrant parents; Josefa Hurtado representing the Ohio Region migrant parents; Nilda Rendon representing the Ohio Region seasonal parents; and, Veronica Gonzalez representing the UMOS Delegate Agency migrant parent. Jesus Cardoza was named Community Representative for the Indiana Region; Bonnie L. McCourt was named Community Representative for the Ohio Region; and Taiya Jones was named Community Representative for the Western Region.
